Camp Cooking

Room 30 are heading off to Ngamuwahine Camp soon and today we organised ourselves into cooking groups because on the first night we will be cooking our own dinner. We had to plan a nutritious meal that is high in energy but would also be easy for us to cook on a camp cooker. We decided on a menu that included an entree, a main and a dessert. We will be getting marked on our meal and the best meal will win a prize up at camp. We had a lot of fun planning our meal and look forward to eating it!!!
Here are some pictures of each group planning their meal

Friday 12 August 2011

Today we had doge ball trials, every one was all excited and wondering who would get in. For the ones who rant that flash on doge ball we played some cool games like seaweed, stuck in the mud and line tag.
We all had a awesome sport session.

Today we had our second social dance lesson. The first Dance we did was the cha cha and then we did the bunny dance which everyone enjoyed. Most of Rimu enjoyed the social dancing and learnt some more moves to the cha cha.

Friday 5th August

In block one we did the IKAN maths test instead of fractions because our teacher wanted to see if we would go up a level with the work of our fractions from the last couple of days. In block two we finished off our next learning steps for our interviews.
In block three we have the school assembly that goes for the whole block, In the assembly come of the steamers are going to be coming and talking to us for a little bit.

August 3rd

Today we did maths, writing, sport and inquiry. For sport we did some soccer skills like dribbling the ball and weaving. Then we had a game of two ball soccer.
For inquiry we did some work on decision making for Life Education and Drugs it was slightly funny at the start however we knew that we should not have been kidding around because it was a serious topic.
Maths we did how to get a fraction out of a whole number we also did some book work which some of us found easy.
The writing that we did was our next steps in our writing and maths. This is for our learning interviews.

Tuesday 2nd August

Today, we did maths and writing. For maths our class solves some problems like 1/3 of a number, equals ÷ by 3. In writing we learnt how to use personal pronouns in our descriptive writing. We have an international student from Japan come into our class for 1 month. Her name is Riko. Which is exciting because we get to learn some Japanese and we might get to do origami and learning how to write our names in Japanese.
Here are some pictures of our exciting day-

Term Three

We are now fully up and running with our class blog and student's will be updating this in the future. It may be on a daily or a weekly basis depending on what we are doing!

We have a very busy term with AIMS week, Camp and our House Social Dance night.

We are fortunate enough to have an exchange student from Japan in our class for the next month and today the class enjoyed getting to know her and learning some Japanese language.
